Please join us for a free public talk by American Library Association President-elect, Emily Drabinski, at Tanglin Trust School on Wednesday, 15 February. 4:30pm for 5:00pm. RSVP required.
“Working Knowledge: Libraries and the Ways We Learn” will explore just how much a library does—and how intimately linked it is to both learning and creating community. It takes a lot of work to make a library run. This talk will look under the hood to explain how libraries make learning magic.
Emily is a Critical Pedagogy Librarian at the Mina Rees Library at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She has worked in libraries for more than twenty years in positions ranging from looseleaf legal filer to library director. She believes in building worker power as a means of transforming our workplaces, communities, and ourselves.
